Jared's Notebook ¶
…
Marks:
- Dezurra, the Demon of Swords is allegedly looking for a pact outside of Drakkenhall. Might be beyond my ken right now to destroy her, could probably convince some Crusader paladin to subjugate her and then take on the paladin. Li might be another good choice for subjugation. I'd rather not eat any more.
- Gelatinous Dodecahedron, should exist in First Triumph. Not sure how I'd get through the Crusader's stronghold.
- Brightnesses seem a good bet, there's one well-corroborated story in Cailan, in The Northern Reaches. Of the Brightlord's retinue are five Brightnesses: Arjyn, Masyn, Kaelyn, Tristyn, and Leshyn. One of them is probably at Pearl Gate defending whatever it is the gods decided was too dangerous to touch. Tieflings will turn away from us for having betrayed their faith, so I'll make good my escape soon after. Bishop, Elara, Judge look useful. Not so sure on Ramos, Corvel, or Dirk.
- Arek the White (Sin-Arekeranis? would very much piss off the three) would be a good target. Unsure if I can bite through scale hide yet, might have other uses.
- There are a fair few vampires milling around in Forge, though the logistics of cornering one seems bad. Will have to work together with someone to bind them down.
- Mummies?
- Elven gods are probably animistic in nature. I don't think they have any power over the outrealms, though provably they do protect their followers from undeath. Will have to evaluate modes of destruction.
- Pains me to write, but the outer sphere malignancies. There might be one up in Cailin?
Bulettes or other strong burrowers would be good, probably Drakkenhall. Or at least someone there should point me in the right direction.- Elementals pose a distinct challenge but perhaps one that can be handled in two parts: Learn, then if the learning is good, consume. Having an elemental under my control would be very beneficial.
Targets:
- Brightlord Enhart will take some working up to, but I think I can start with the Brightnesses. Drive him out into the open, or back to the plane of ice. Doesn't seem like a calm guy.
Nightmother. Her spider witches aren't anything I can't deal with, I'll take her secrets then rout her clerics. Timing needs to work out though. Good first target?- Dezurra. Mixed bag, could be useful subjugated. Is planning a massacre near Drakkenhall, would like to prevent that.
- Ballos. Can I eat the god of hunger? Even writing it, it sounds a fools errand. Have I sunk so low? Still, it needs destroying.
- Utoplenna. Not sure what happened out on the ocean but it can't have been good. Maxwell might have info. Another good first target.
- Kevralmos. I've already seen it in Forge. If I can get Lever and the Factory to help me out, should go smooth. I can get into its realm and corner it.
Artifacts:
- Sidewind has Brilliance. Famously.
- Agony ended up missing in Forge. Famously.
- Judge has Order. I think I can get him to work with me, will need to find an angle where we both benefit. Sick bastard though.
- Maxwell has Grace. I also think I can get him to work with me. Maybe offer assurance silver trio will go untouched.
- Obedience is with Crouch, or Scorching Cloud. No shot he agrees to work with me.
- Will has to have something but I'm not sure yet. Dangerous elf.
Contacts:
- Bishop, skilled communicator and observant. I think we can work well together.
- Corvel, talented wizard, great forethought and planning. Maybe too smart.
- Duncan, too devout to use more than once. Very resourceful and well connected.
- Elara, should be able to offer her challenging fights. Not sure if she has any animus or other thorns I can use, but maybe gold is good enough.
- Dirk, mechanized warrior. Could be a good in to glean something off of the Priestess. Should know a bit about the Brightness, and I can probably use that to my advantage.
- Judge. Cruel twisted bastard. Last resort.
- Sharash. Might have her own agenda, but I believe we would work well together. Nearly killed Maxwell with her bare hands, great fighter.
- Maxwell. No good for task, but I believe we can be friendly, and his influence may help us rub shoulders with other points of contact.
- Connor. Highly resourceful, works with the factory. One-use contact, whatever D1 is planning doesn't work out with my heists.
I'm heading up to Cailan as we speak. I crossed Judge and Corvel off the list. Judge is too wily and Corvel too smart, and he'd see my trap. The remaining four don't have any wizardry among them, which should let me seal in the gate without any trouble. I'll invite them up in a few months once I've scouted the place out and made sure Pearl Gate was as advertised. If we survive, I think my next bet will be either First Try or going to see Sidewind. He gave Hester a chance to use Brilliance in Forge, so maybe he'd be willing to use my skills for some mutual benefit. I'll get my arm back soon, I can feel it.
