Elazar Harel ¶

Description ¶

Elazar's most notable feature is a scar that runs across his nose. His straight black hair is kept to chin length. He has ruby colored eyes, and his skin tone is a deep maroon. His horns are pointed upwards and twist out then towards eachother similar to antelope antlers. Similar to others of his kin, Elazar has hooves instead of feet.

Backstory ¶

Elazar was an orphan born on the streets of Axis. When he came of age he was conscripted into the Imperial Army to fight in what would become known as 'The Orc Wars'. Elazar fought on the frontlines in the Red Wastes. In this campaign, he befriended Selthron, an ambitious Orc. While they were on opposite sides, Elazar was brought here without a choice and Selthorn took pity on him.

As a soldier Elazar fought to survive in the Red Wastes. Hoping that he would live long enough for the war to end. During a raid on his camp, Elazar saved the life of an Officer, Lieutenant Thomas Hartlage. For this deed Thomas offered Elazar a place for him when the war is over, and Thomas a true to his word.

Elazar became a courtier of Thomas’ father, Duke Philip of House Hartlage. Elazar had come from nothing and hoped to climb the political ladder. He served the Harlages for many years, but had hit a dead end. The nobility did not want to accept a Tiefling rising any higher in their circles.

After years of faithful service, Elazar learned the truth of his stagnation by accidentally eavesdropping on a conversation between the retainers of a visiting noble to the Hartlage estate. Elazar fell into despair over this revelation, and finding solace in drink.

At the end of a bottle is where Elazar found salvation. For what he saw was a woman with power, a woman he would come to know as Katarina. She promised Elazar power, wealth and more. And who was he to deny her words.

Elazar's introduction to her group was quick, but the indoctrination was slow. It only took a few months, with a favor here and a sack of gold there. Finally, it came time for his him to become fully devoted to this cult of Katarina's. To prove his loyalty, he must cut out the heart of an innocent child. During this ritual that would sacrifice an innocent child, Sir Jordan, a paladin of the Gold Wyrm attacked. In the battle Sir Jordan spared Elazar as he was the only cultist to shield the child from harm. Elazar in presence of Sir Jordan had the scales fall from his eyes. The true deception of Katerina revealed, and the gravity of what he was about to do upon his conscious.

Elazar followed Sir Jordan and pledged himself to the Great Gold Wyrm. He followed Sir Jordan into the Red Wastes to become a Knight. During his training as a Knight, he found Selthorn alive but changed. They pledged to each other that if either of them fell to the power of Evil they would grant each other the mercy of death.

One Unique Thing ¶

I was once a warrior in the service of the Diaboloist. I was redemeemed by someone I tried to Kill. The Cult does not yet know I am their enemy. The Cult knows I am their enemy.
